Below is an announcement from Shelley Davis about her departure from the Chicago Foundation for Women:
Dear Colleagues,
With mixed emotion, I am moving on from Chicago Foundation for Women after five years of service. I will dedicate the summer to my children and volunteering. In the fall, I will begin a new position teaching at The Harris School of Public Policy at The University of Chicago. I am excited to be able to share the lessons that I’ve learned during thirteen in organized philanthropy and more than eighteen years in the nonprofit sector.
As a social justice advocate, my work at the Foundation allowed me to act on my personal values everyday. I am proud that during my tenure I was able to oversee nearly $6 million in grants, develop a community health education series and lead the Women’s Economic Security Campaign, an advocacy initiative which focuses on public policies that impact low-income women and their families.
Happily, I will still be active in the women’s funding movement through my position as the Chicago Committee Co-Chair of the African Women’s Development Fund. I will also continue my service to several South-side efforts that focus on economic development.
Please keep in touch with me as I know there will be many opportunities to collaborate in the future. Below is my contact info for your email and mailing lists.
